Excerpt from "An Exposition Of The Gospels, Matthew And Mark" by John MacEvilly, Archbishop of Tuam, 1887 A.D., page 129: 

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His justice, and all these things shall be added unto you. 

1. After the negative precept prohibiting excessive anxiety in regard to the necessaries of life, our Redeemer now proposes a positive or affirmative precept..... 

2. "Seek." He does not say, "be solicitious." For, even in reference to our spiritual wants, we should not indulge in distracting solicitude, "nihil soliciti sitis," etc. (St. Paul, Phil, IV)

For Those who Cannot Go to Confession

Act of Contrition. O my God! I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee; and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all good, and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.

"The reception of the Sacrament of Penance is a divine precept [requirement] which concerns 
all who, after baptism, are guilty of mortal sin. It is of the strictest obligation, there being no
other means by which they can be reconciled to God. An actual or implicit wish to confess, joined
to *perfect contrition, is necessary as a necessary means for those who cannot go to confession."
