Evidence suggests this film/plea of Pope Pius XII, was made literally right before he died, on October 9, 1958. (Note: British Pathé News recorded "Date received", on the original paperwork for the film, as: "10/13/1958" [four days after Pius XII died] and noted this invocation was also made in Italian, French, German and Spanish.) We know His Holiness, who had read the 3rd Secret of Fatima, had previously lamented: "We believe that the present hour is a dread phase of the events foretold by Christ. It seems that darkness is about to fall on the world. Humanity is in the grip of a supreme crisis." ... And to those who were kneeling at his bedside, the day he died, Pius XII said: "Pray! Pray that this regretful situation for the Church will soon end." (Note: It is TCW's thought that Pius XII knew his Church was infiltrated with Freemasons, who were prepared to mortally strike.)
