At the coronation ceremonies the Papal Tiara is placed on the head of the Pope with these words, "Receive the tiara adorned with three crowns and know that thou art Father of princes and kings, Ruler of the world, Vicar of our Saviour Jesus Christ." Note: Later in his pontificacy, Pius XII would exclaim, "We believe that the present hour is a dread phase of the events foretold by Christ. It seems that darkness is about to fall on the world. Humanity is in the grip of a supreme crisis."
